Hessle Lawn Tennis Club

Welcome to Hessle Tennis Club.

Founded in 1912, the club can proudly boast that it is the oldest club in the Hull and District League. Our facilities are however right up to date. We have four all weather synthetic courts and three hard courts.

The AGM will be held at Hessle Tennis Club on Wednesday 29th February.
A copy of the Agenda and all documents referred to in the agenda are attached.
The club's constitution is a lengthy document so can you please make sure that you have read the draft constitution prior to attending the meeting.

On Sunday 5th February a Junior Under 9 Event will be held at the club.
The event will use courts 1 to 6 from 1.30pm - 4.15pm.
Spectators are more than welcome - clubhouse will be open for refreshments.

Happy New Year to you all and our sincere apologies for the interruption to junior coaching caused by delays in fitting the new courts and refurbishment of the floodlights.
Good news is that we are now up and running so Friday junior coaching will recommence on Friday 13th January through to and including February 17th (weather permitting).
Juniors should attend the session times that they previously attended during the summer.
General session times are :-
Mini Red (5-7yrs) 5pm - 5.45pm
Mini Orange (7-9yrs) 5.45pm - 6.30pm
Mini Green (9-11yrs) 6.30pm - 7.15pm

Dear Members

At long last courts 1 and 2 are now ready for use and the floodlights have been refitted.
There are still a few issues with court 2 but the contractors are fully aware and will address the problems in the New Year.
Do not forget if you are going to play with floodlights you need to book a court. The booking form is on the noticeboard in the entrance.
We will inform you when junior coaching recommences.

An Adult Christmas Quiz Night will be held on Friday 9th December.
Teams can consist of up to a maximum of 4 people and there are prizes for the winning team.

Play Your Cards Right for a chance to win a cash prize of at least £60.
Quiz Entry Fee is £1 per person and Play Your Cards Right is £1 per ticket for the draw.

Come along and join in the festive fun and enjoy a hot mince pie with friends.

Unfortunately the replacement of courts 1 & 2 and the refurbishment of the lights are taking longer than expected. What looked like a reasonably straight forward job has turned into a bit of a nightmare but you can be assured that everything possible is being done to have the courts ready for play.
As there are only 2 astra courts available at the moment and the winter doubles matches have started it is therefore necessary to have a booking system for courts 3 & 4 at weekends.
From the 19th November the following applies:-

There will be an American tournament on Sunday October 16th, starting at 2pm. This is the day before work starts on re-surfacing courts 1 and 2 - your last chance to savour those dodgy bounces! Keep fingers crossed for the weather - hope to see you there.
